HYUKOH and Sunset Rollercoaster have teamed up for a new project.

Comprising Korean outfit HYUKOH are OHHYUK, HYUNJAE, INWOO, and DONGGEON along with the band’s close friend JNKYRD, while Taipei-based act Sunset Rollercoaster consist of Kuo-Hung Tseng, Hung-Li Chen, Shao-Hsuan Wang, Tsun-Lung Lo, and Hao-Ting Huang.

Called AAA, both the project and album title, the name connotes different meanings for the bands. It was the term they used to refer to the project in its infancy. It was also the name of the car insurance company Sunset Rollercoaster used in their first US tour. They also used it to refer to Access All Areas, a constant for their festival and touring stints, and its abbreviation AAA to "blur all cultural boundaries". For members OHHYUK and Kuo, the name means “something good” and “guaranteed quality."

The 8-track record will serve as both bands' first full-length album in four years, and is said to be a "culmination of monthly sessions with both bands beginning in May 2023 across South Korea in Gapyeong, Seoul, and Jeju Island."

The bands go a long way back, but formally collaborated in 2020 with OHHYUK’s feature on the Sunset Rollercoaster track, 'Candlelight'. OHHYUK and Kuo also appear as collaborators on BTS RM's sophomore album, Right Place, Wrong Person, working together on 'Come back to me'. For AAA, the new project, the two bands started by joining a one-of-a-kind song camp at Music Village 1939 in Gapyeong in May 2023.

After a year of meticulously working together, and travelling across different cities in Korea, AAA is slated for release on 10 July 2024. Check out the countdown and find out more about AAA here.
