South Korean band HYUKOH are slowly on their way towards world domination. After amassing a cult fan base in their native South Korea, the four-piece indie rock band recently made their way down in Southeast Asia for a packed show in Kuala Lumpur, as part of Urbanscapes 2017.
All four members — made up of Oh Hyuk (vocals/guitar), Lim Hyun-Jae (lead guitars), Im Dong-Geon (bass) and Lee In-Woo (drums) — are, in true boy band fashion, incredibly stylish and effortlessly photogenic. We got photographer Timothy Tan to hang out with the band backstage as they prepared for their main set at Urbanscapes (along with an impromptu secret show), along with many candid and off-the-cuff moments.
"They played 2 shows, but the second show at The Bee," Timothy tells us. "It was, hands down, one of the best live gigs I've ever been to. I was immensely blown away by the crowd reaction and by their performance."
You can find Timothy Tan on Instagram (perspecgifs for more fantastic .gif portraits).

Hyuk's interests are possibly his tattoos," Timothy tells us, "although we talked about quite a number of things — including his love for photography."
Hyun-Jae was fairly quiet, but after I got him talking, I found out he actually likes deep house, and psytrance, That was fairly peculiar."
In-Woo plays computer games, and we exchanged POTG's (usernames) in [video game] Overwatch. He plays a Genji and Reinhart."
Dong-Geon, he's very, very quiet."
Special thanks to Urbanscapes for setting this up.
