This past weekend, Republic Polytechnic lit up with its annual musical extravaganza: Ignite Music Festival 2018. Now in its 11th year, the entirely student-run music festival stuck to its mission of showcasing Singapore music in all its diversity.
Indie pop rubbed shoulders with hip-hop while experimental music stood proud on the lineup alongside hardcore. On day 1, Yung Raja and Fariz Jabba unquestionably stole the show with the biggest crowd of the whole weekend, while excitement was palpable on day 2 as the newest iteration of Caracal took the stage for their first show in years.
