Threads is here.
The new app, created by Meta's Instagram team, is now available to users across the globe. In a statement, Meta shares how they envision the new text-sharing app to be "a new, separate space for real-time updates and public conversations."
Users can join Threads with their Instagram account, automatically carrying over the same username (and blue ticks for verified users).

Each Threads post can use up to 500 characters including links, photos, and 5-minute videos. Users can also share a Threads post to their Instagram story.

Some of our favourite artists have already opened their own Threads accounts such as GOT7's Mark Tuan and Jay B, GRAMMY-winning popstar Olivia Rodrigo, Filipino folk-pop act Ben & Ben, Thai pop group 4 Eve and indie rock trio Tilly Birds, Vietnamese-American musician keshi, Singaporean singer-songwriter Shye, NCT's Mark, Taeyong, Haechan, and Jaemin, Japanese music super duo Yoasobi, Korean-American singer-songwriter and Twitch streamer eaJ, Malaysian pop star Yuna, SB19 members Stell and Josh, PLEDIS Entertainment act and Prismfilter producer BUMZU, and more.

Music fans have also spotted the likes of Singaporean indie pop trio Sobs and singer-songwriter Charlie Lim, Filipino pop music icon Sarah Geronimo, and the official account of P-pop kings SB19 (as well as Pablo) on the platform, but have yet to share their first posts.
Brands, labels, and concert promoters have also jumped on the new social media app to spark conversations, share information, and drop memes.
