Jett Pangan is taking on a bloody new role in 2019.

In an announcement by Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group on Wednesday (12/05) Pangan, who fronts the iconic Filipino rock act The Dawn, will be playing the title role in the 40^th anniversary production of the Broadway musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

"As a long-time Atlantis Productions baby, I've had nothing but full trust in Director Bobby Garcia each time he calls on me for a project," Pangan says. "From a loving husband and father of a dysfunctional family in Next To Normal to a pint-sized flamboyant dictator in Shrek the Musical, it's been a wild, fun journey through the years that has also blessed this singer in a rock band with tools to further improve his craft."

The Manila run of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street opens at The Theater at Solaire in October 2019.
