Homegrown Mandopop superstars JJ Lin and Stefanie Sun will be releasing an English version of 'Stay With You' this weekend, in conjunction with Singapore's 55th National Day.
Co-written by the pair, 'Stay With You' was initially released in January in Mandarin, as a hearfelt anthem that resonates with frontline workers in light of the pandemic that struck the world ever since. 'Stay With You' sets a rather retrospective mood with the beautiful harmonisation of the cello, together with the classical piano and guitar chords in the background.
This year's National Day Parade, JJ Lin and Stefanie Sun will be performing 'Stay With You' as part of the evening musical acts on 9 August, which will run from 7PM. As Lin is currently based in Taiwan, he will be performing remotely with Sun, who is based in Singapore. This performance will be the first time both artists are performing in a duet, although they both have performed in SG50's NDP individually.

"2020 has been a difficult year for us all. I hope that this special rendition of 'Stay With You' can kindle a sense of togetherness no matter where we are," said JJ Lin in his Instagram post.
"As we look forward to celebrate as a nation in these trying times, JJ and I would like to show our appreciation through this English rendition of 'Stay With You'," said Sun on Instagram. "To the people who have stayed where they are most needed and kept us safe, thank you. Together we are stronger."
Following their performance at NDP2020, 'Stay With You' will be digitally released on streaming platforms from 10PM on 9 August.
This year's NDP2020 Show will be broadcasted live from The Star Performing Arts Theatre, unlike the usual NDP venues such as The Padang or The Float @ Marina Bay.
