Here’s some good news for all you musical enthusiasts out there! 

Lin-Manuel Miranda breathes new life into Jonathan Larson’s tick, tick… BOOM! two decades after its first release in the theatre.

This autobiographical film adaptation is set to follow the life of Jonathan Larson, an American composer and playwright best known for his rock musical Rent which won three posthumous Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize after his passing.

Miranda’s full-length film directorial debut tick, tick… BOOM! stars Andrew Garfield as Larson who, as an aspiring theatre composer, faces a midlife crisis at 30 and faces immense pressure from his loved ones as he attempts to write his magnum opus before he runs out of time.

The film also stars Bradley Whitford, Joshua Henry, Judith Light, MJ Rodriguez, Tariq Trotter, and Vanessa Hudgens. 

tick, tick… BOOM! will premiere in theatres on 12th November and will hit Netflix on 19th November. 

The first single '30/90' off the film’s official soundtrack is now available on streaming platforms.
