On 31 March, the Filipino singer-songwriter unveiled his three-track project Drop 1 which centres on his active imagination and trust in his listeners to engage with his music. The thee singles—'Buksan', 'Aminin', and 'Pancit'—come as juan karlos' latest release since 2021's 'Boston'.

The project features a collaboration with Janine Berdin for 'Pancit', which tells the story of puppy love and the nerves that come when showing affection for someone they like. Leaving it up to listeners to interpret his music, juan karlos shares that while the feelings of 'Pancit' are universal, he hopes people will form their connection to the endearing single.
“People will have different interpretations because we all have different experiences," says the 'Buwan' hitmaker.
