To everyone, from Jun Matsumoto
When I was just starting out in this new world, you, my fans, extended a warm hand to me. It is my desire always to express my sincere gratitude for such support and encouragement over the years which helped me so much to grow. With such in mind, as of May 30, 2024, I have decided to go independent as an individual artist while remaining a member of ARASHI.
Looking back, the days I have spent here with staff ever since I was a teenager are precious treasures for me. To be honest, I am very anxious about trading such an environment for the unknown of independence, but I feel that it is a necessary step for me to shape my own future. Particularly memorable was my first experience on the big stage. The endless support and trust shown to me by the company personnel amidst a mixture of nervousness and excitement is still with me to this day.
The new challenge of independence is not a smooth road, but it offers the opportunity for new creations and the realization of long-held dreams. I would like to explore various forms of expression through new encounters, making the most of the experiences and relationships I have cultivated so far. The warmth and passion of the people I have met so far remain the source of my creative activities. I would like to continue to use each moment as a source of inspiration and reflect it in my future works.
In June, I will begin rehearsals for a new play. Through new challenges under new organizational parameters, I will face my role on this stage and work harder than ever to find a new me.
My agent contract as ARASHI will continue under STARTO ENTERTAINMENT. I would like to ask for your continued support for my activities there as well.
I am sure many will be surprised by this sudden announcement, but I would like to think of this as a positive challenge and ask for your continued support for everything that is yet to come.Jun Matsumoto
