Kakao Entertainment partners with Columbia Records, IVE to make North American debut

Kakao Entertainment has partnered with Columbia Records

On 24 March, the Korean entertainment powerhouse announced that its US subsidiary has recently partnered with the Sony Music-powered label as part of its plan to expand further into the global market. "This partnership aims to expand Kakao Entertainment’s music distribution network and elevate its position in the global market by leveraging Columbia Records’ unparalleled expertise in the North American music business,” said Kakao in an official statement. 

As part of their partnership, the two companies will now co-manage IVE's North American activities in order to boost the girl group's presence in the US. IVE are currently signed under the Kakao Entertainment-powered label Starship Entertainment

The news comes ahead of the release of their single 'Kitsch', which serves as a glimpse into their highly anticipated debut album, I've IVEThe single is set for release on 27 March.

Since their debut in 2021, IVE have proven to be an unstoppable force in K-pop. Most recently, the group won Song Of The Year at the MAMA Awards 2022 for their viral hit 'LOVE DIVE'
