Kakie has made her online debut.

On Friday (07/26), the Filipina singer-songwriter released her debut single 'tyl' via Curve Entertainment.

On Instagram, Kakie shared that she'd been a fan of her producer Ely Buendia for years now, saying that she knows "pretty much every Eraserheads song by heart."

She writes, "When i heard there was a chance i might work with him i burst into tears of joy. i never ever thought that i’d get the privilege of working with someone i’ve looked up to for so long (i don’t think he knows how much i love him tbh i was a nervous wreck in the studio and was shaking the whole time i didn’t think i’d be able to sing)."

'tyl' was written in 2018, according to the singer. "the finished sound is not something i ever thought i’d delve into, only ely buendia could ever convince me to go that far out of my comfort zone and do something different." She adds that the original version of 'tyl' was "slower, rawer." 

Buendia on the other hand notes Kakie as "truly one of the most gifted singer-songwriters I've had the pleasure to work with."
