Kim Trinidad is best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist of prominent Filipino indie rock band Loop. But singer-songwriter has had a sterling career as a solo artist as well, with highly praised releases such as Between in 2018 and When You Know in 2022.

Most recently, Trinidad has just dropped a new song entitled 'Tattooed Girl'. The track is about “being consumed by this nervous infatuation, unknowingly slipping into a delusion”, the singer shares.

The single is taken off her fortcoming album Blinders, which wil be the first time she's showcasing entirely self-produced solo music.

The motivation behind the LP was kindled during the pandemic, as Trinidad took account of her expansive catalog of  unreleased material. “I made a pact to myself to release at least ten of them before I die,” she quipped.

“Back in 2014, I recorded the album, Blinders, as a love letter for this person,” she continues. “As this was my 10-year-old love letter, I couldn’t imagine having someone else write this letter for me, which is why I decided to finish what I started and just self-produce. The whole project was a lot. It was everything—tedious, complicated, frightening, demanding discipline, and too much for one person to handle,” she confessed. “But it was definitely liberating!”

'Tattooed Girl' is now available on all streaming platforms. Blinders is set for release later this year.
