One of the greatest names in the world of opera is on his way to Singapore.
Legendary Spanish tenor José Carreras has announced that as part of his 2022 Asia tour, he will be stopping over at the Lion City for a one-night-only concert on 11 November 2022.
Titled "An Evening with José Carreras", the event will honour the 75-year-old vocalist's illustrious decades-spanning career. Its repertoire will feature arias from Francesco P. Tosti, Salvatore Cardillo, and Alessandro Derevitsky.

At his show at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, he will be joined by Maestro David Giménez, a 45-piece orchestra from The Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as Singaporean soprano Teng Xiang Ting.
Aside from having an enormous repertoire, comprising more than 60 operas and over 600 titles of varying styles, Carreras has collected multiple accolades, including the Grand Prix du Disque from the Academy of Paris, the Luigi Illica Prize, a GRAMMY Award, and the Sir Lawrence Olivier Award.
He also served as the Musical Director for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
