Lili reflects on her days in a secluded island with solo debut album 'Sunchild' – listen

Lili has unveiled her first full-length album.

The keyboardist of indie-folk act The Ransom Collective shared her solo debut record, Sunchild, via Sony Music Philippines. The 12-track offering is a coming-of-age story takes a look at the indie-folk songwriter's thoughts and experiences during stay in the secluded island of Rote in Indonesia. It was produced remotely by Ciudad frontman Mikey Amistoso.

"I got stuck there and went through some negative, but mostly positive experiences, and it got me to write the songs that are now in my album," Lili shares in a statement. "My album is a reflection of my most natural state at this moment in time. I made no intention to sound anything but myself and it means a lot to mean that I was able to express myself in that way, as I've been wanting to do so for so long."

In an interview with Bandwagon, Lili says, "My lyrics are candid, optimistic, and contain messages of empowerment and resilience, while my music is inevitably influenced by the slow pace of the island juxtaposed against the sound of waves crashing and the calling to surf."

Sunchild includes collaborative efforts with the likes of Oh, Flamingo!'s Howard Lustrio and Pat SarabiaEnzo Zulueta, and Chicosci bassist Eco Del Rio.
