It's been a solid six months since Woodlands' favourite rap son, Akeem Jahat, blessed us with his celebrated anthem '$ua', leaving fans clamoring for a larger taste of his forthcoming full-length album. In that time frame, Akeem's been steadily building up his already considerable rep by performing high-profile collaborations with indie musicians, memorably guest-starring on SonaOne's debut album, and even dropping a much-hyped original track for a Malaysian vape brand.
So while he has been keeping plenty busy, his legions of fans on both sides of the Causeway have been kept in tense anticipation for brand new material from the LP. Well, wait no further. In a surprise move, the enigmatic rapper quietly dropped a brand new cut called 'Bu$a' last night, and it's most certainly worth the wait!
The song has proven to be a crowd favourite during his recent live sets, so its wonderful to finally have the studio version in our lives. 'Bu$a' is a romantic and rock-tinged throwback tune that simultaneously manages to be soulful and hard-edged. Let's collectively pray that his full-length record isn't far behind this release. In the meantime, you check out his new single below. Vroom, vroom.
