Lofi Girl has a new friend.

The team behind the famed 24-hour lofi hip-hop YouTube stream launched a new daily livestream today (12 April) that features synthwave music, faced by a new character that people have referred to as "Synthwave Boy".

The news comes follows Lofi Girl's day-long disappearance from her desk, in an attempt to create hype for the channel's new livestream. The launch campaign featured a series of cryptic clues and hints on Twitter and Youtube which include blinking lights in morse code, and a countdown, consequently stirring fans online. 

Lofi Girl initially launched in 2017 and has since grown to be an online community, drawing in thousands of views daily.
