Maya Hawke has given fans another taste of what to expect from her forthcoming studio album.
On 16 August (SGT/PHT), the American actress and singer-songwriter unveiled a brand new single from MOSS, which is due to be released on 23 September 2022.
Titled 'Sweet Tooth', the tranquil number is the second single, after 'Thérèse', from the 24-year-old's sophomore record.
"'Sweet Tooth’ was the last song written for MOSS. The lyrics were written in Atlanta while filming, but Christian [Lee Hutson] and I recorded the first demo in Nashville,” shared Hawke.
She continued: "When we finished the first recording session, I felt this eruption of joy and I knew this feeling had to be on the record.”
The multi-talented artist also dropped a dreamy accompanying music video starring herself and her friends on the same day.
'Sweet Tooth' is a trippy, playful video that embraces the dichotomy of its themes: a joyful and melancholic funeral, a fake dream world with real footage, care and loneliness, sweetness and pain," explained the video's director, Celine Sutter.
A versatile individual, Hawke, who is the daughter of Hollywood stars Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, started off as a model before branching out into acting and music-making. Aside from portraying the fan-favourite character Robin Buckley in Netflix's Stranger Things and starring in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, she has a 12-track album, titled "Blush" under her belt.
