Imago singer Mayumi Gomez is giving back with a birthday charity concert called Mayuming Kaarawan: A Birthday Charity Gala for the benefit of The Butterfly Project.
Featuring the live music of Imago, The Ransom Collective, Cheats, Asch, Taken By Cars, Over October, and Rob and the Hitmen, the upcoming gala will be mounted at 12 Monkeys in El Pueblo, Ortigas on June 29 (Friday). Proceeds will go to The Butterfly Project, a safe house for orphaned girls rescued from sexual abuse and sex trafficking. Attendees are encouraged to bring books, instruments, art supplies, and monetary donations.
"A pastor friend of mine who also likes OPM bands told me about this orphanage that he's a part of and asked me if I wanted to visit them," Gomez tells Bandwagon. "I decided to raise funds so that when I visit, I can make care packages for each of the girls and donate to the orphanage as well. I visited a similar safe house for abused girls two months ago with my discipleship group in church and that's how my desire to help out started."

Gomez recently tried her hand at directing Imago's upcoming video, where she also dances and acts for the first time, following the release of the band's latest single 'Trio.'
