It seems metal is all you need to survive The Upside Down.
Season 4 of Stranger Things has been packed with so many high moments, that it was difficult to gauge how far its season finale would go. Metallica, on one hand, are "beyond psyched" about how their 1986 hit 'Master of Puppets' turned out to be a massive part of the explosive penultimate episode.

"The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include 'Master of Puppets' in the show but to have such a pivotal scene built around it," the legendary metal act share in a statement.

"We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away... it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?" They add, "It’s an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie’s journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show."

Metallica's contributions go a little further from lending 'Master of Puppets' to the episode. Bassist Robert Trujillo's 17-year-old son, Tye, was also credited as the one who recorded Eddie Munson's solo on the show.
"That’s my boy! Proud of ya Tye," the elder Trujillo writes on Instagram. "Stranger Things finale shredding it on 'Master of Puppets' and big thanks to @kirkhammett on helping!"
