Hong Kong pop sensation group MIRROR first English single and music video is finally here!

Aimed to expand the city's tunes to music lovers worldwide, Sony Music Entertainment Hong Kong kicked off a multi-project in collaboration with MakerVille and Music Nation to release the boy band's first-ever English single 'Rumours'.

To ensure that they were able to convey the meaning of the song in English, the members worked closely with their vocal coach, Andrew Choi during the process of creating the single. A fun and catchy tune, Rumours is said to be a mixture of  “sexy” and “flirtatious” the members shared in an interview with Bandwagon.

In recent years, MIRROR rose to fame in 2020 following a reality talent program called Good Night Show – King Maker. They grew even further during Hong Kong's protracted COVID-19 limitations, which prevented visiting artists from performing in its city.

With their first album One And All topping the Spotify Albums in Hong Kong since its release in November 2021, and over 490 million views on their official YouTube channel, the twelve-member Cantopop boy band has emerged as a key factor in the resurgence of the Cantonese pop genre.

Most notably collecting eight awards including Best Group (Gold) and Audience's Favorite Group at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation in January, members of the band have also gone on to have successful solo careers. Keung To, was named Male Singer of the Year at the Metro Radio Hits Music Awards in December last year, as well as Anson Lo, who received Best New Asian Artist (Mandarin) at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in 2021.

“MIRROR’s story is one about a group of youths who have fully devoted themselves to pursuing their dreams. The determination and passion of the boys can transcend geographical boundaries, and we believe their story is a universal one. We look forward to partnering with Sony Music Entertainment to tell this fascinating story to audiences around the World.” shares Lofai Lo, CEO of Makerville Company Limited.
