NewJeans' Danielle is Ariel.
On 12 May, Disney Korea confirmed that the NewJeans member will be playing the role of Ariel for the Korean dub version of the upcoming film, The Little Mermaid.
"Danielle will take on the role of Ariel and showcase a new side of herself by dubbing and singing for [the film’s] original soundtrack. We expect that Danielle, who is similar in age with and whose cheerful image resembles that of Ariel in the film, will bring out the charm of teenage girl Ariel who is bubbly and full of curiosity," said Disney Korea in an official statement, as translated by Soompi.

The Little Mermaid, which stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, will premiere on 24 May in South Korea and 26 May in the US.
