On 8 July, the Indonesian singer-songwriter released a brand new single titled 'Oceans & Engines'. The introspective ballad track marks the second glimpse into NIKI's upcoming album, Nicole, following the release of the lead single 'Before' last month. 

Longtime fans of NIKI might recognise 'Oceans & Engines', as it is a self-written song she previously shared on her old YouTube channel before signing to 88rising. "Wrote this song in 2016 when I was 17 experiencing the earth-shattering heartbreak of a first love moving away for good. It is massively dramatic & long with a naïveté & innocence I look back on fondly now at 23," NIKI shares in a statement.

Fans may also expect more familiar tunes on Nicole. The 'Every Summertime' act shared that the first half of Nicole will feature re-recorded and reimagined versions of new and archived songs, while the latter half will see original songs that were first uploaded to her old YouTube channel.

Slated for release in August, Nicole is set to follow NIKI's 2020 debut album, MOONCHILD. Following the release of her sophomore album, NIKI will be embarking on The Nicole Tour in September, where she will be touring the North American region.
