Olivia Rodrigo is taking us on a road trip!

In an announcement made on 17 February, the GRAMMY-nominate singer-songwriter shared that she will be releasing a documentary, titled Driving Home 2 U (A SOUR film), this 25 March via Disney+.

The tell-all film, directed by Stacey Lee, sees Olivia on a road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles, guiding fans through the journey of how her breakout debut album SOUR came to be and being a teenager navigating through fame.

“This is a unique film experience where for the first-time fans will understand how her album came to be and why it was such a personal journey for Olivia,” said President of Disney Branded Television Ayo Davis in a statement.

“This is not a concert film per se, but really, an opportunity to experience first-hand how Olivia Rodrigo became one of the biggest music stars of the day — and a chance to see her perform the songs from SOUR like never before."

SOUR dropped last May, which included some of the biggest hits of 2021 like 'drivers license', 'deja vu', and 'traitor'.

In an interview with Bandwagon, Olivia shared how the multi-platinum record reflects a slice of her teenage life and all the emotions she'd had during that time. 

"There's nothing like taking confusing feelings in your head and making a song about them. It's super empowering to see me write about being sad or insecure and see that resonate with people making them feel less alone. I think that's one of the most empowering things that I've done in my life," she said.
