Oricon will now be counting Spotify streams.
In an announcement made on 27 April, the Japanese music industry-standard chart revealed that they will now be using data from the popular streaming platform to rank their Oricon Weekly Streaming chart starting on 9 May.

With the inclusion of Spotify, the music chart gathers data from Apple Music, Amazon Music, AWA, KKBOX, TOWER RECORDS MUSIC powered by Recochoku, YouTube, YouTube Music, LINE MUSIC, and Rakuten Music.

Oricon Weekly Streaming was first established in December 2018 in addition to the company's Singles Chart and Albums Chart.
