A new Pokémon adventure awaits!

As part of its 26^th anniversary celebration, The Pokémon Company hosted its latest Presents showcase on Sunday (27/02) to reveal its exciting new open-world RPG title Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Developed by Game Freak inc., the upcoming mainline game will take players to a rich new world with Spanish-influenced towns and cities blending seamlessly into the wilderness without any borders. 

Welcome to the open world of Pokémon.

Embark on an open-world adventure in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, arriving on Nintendo Switch in late 2022.

Here's everything you need to know about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:

The (adorable) Starter Pokémon

Players will soon get to meet three new starter Pokémon to join them on their journey. 

First is Sprigatito, capricious, attention-seeking Grass Cat Pokémon. Then we have Fuecoco, the laid-back Fire Croc Pokémon that does things at its own pace. And lastly, there's Quaxly, the earnest and tidy Duckling Pokémon.

The Outfits

The default clothes your main character wears will depend on which version of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet you'll choose for your next big adventure. In previous titles, players have been given the option to customize their character's outfits in later parts of the game. 

It's Pokémon HOME Compatible

With Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, players will also get the chance to link with the subscription-based app Pokémon HOME, giving them access to their favourite pocket monsters (that also appear in Scarlet and Violet) that they caught from other titles.

Release Date

While an exact date has yet to be revealed, The Pokémon Company assures fans that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is scheduled for release in late 2022.
