Concerts have been cancelled, tours are put on hold, and now even clubs have closed down.
It looks like this is the end of the nightlife experience for now, with entertainment venues being shut down in line with the government's suspension of events and gatherings with more than 250 people in attendance. Even superclubs such as MARQUEE Singapore and Zouk, which was ranked third on the DJ Mag Top 100 clubs list, have not been spared. Zouk remains optimistic though, urging patrons that "we'll always be together / Together in electric dreams" in an Instagram post. It seems the nightclub has made good on its earlier promise to "bring the Zouk experience to you online".
Zouk has joined forces with global gaming company Razer and live-streaming platform Bigo Live to host a virtual clubbing experience on Razer's Bigo Live channel. The first live stream takes place at 7PM tonight (27/03), and will feature popular nights, from One Dance to Sin City and Crowd CTRL, as well as guest appearances by local DJs Farah Farz, ParaMercy, and Doppelgangerz.
“Youth and millennials, especially those who play games, tend to make the best out of the worst situations,” said Min-Liang Tan, CEO and Co-Founder of Razer. “With COVID-19 calling for social distancing, Razer and our partners will unlock the potential of cloud clubbing in Southeast Asia and drive thousands of party-goers to the livestream.”

“With many countries on lockdown, we hope to be able to reach out to people through music, technology and social interaction on the virtual sphere. Through Razer and Bigo Live, we are moving the Zouk experience online, so that viewers from around the region or globally will still be able engage with the community right from their bedrooms,” added Andrew Li, CEO of Zouk Group.
Viewers can interact with the DJs via the chat and even send virtual gifts using Razer's virtual credits. Part of any proceeds made will be donated to the government to support efforts against COVID-19.
Razer has been actively involved in the fight against the coronavirus, converting their manufacturing lines to produce surgical masks for donation to health authorities of various countries all over the world.
"All of us have a part to play and we should be doing whatever we can with the situation getting more serious (...) The team at Razer is stepping up to what we can," Tan wrote in a tweet. "We are committed to contributing our extra time, resources, effort and talent toward the fight against COVID-19."
We intend to donate up to 1M masks to the health authorities of different countries globally. For starters, we’ve been in touch with the authorities in Singapore (where the @Razer SEA HQ is based) to donate some of the initial shipments to assist their fight against COVID-19.

Streaming giant Spotify has also been working to support the music community while addressing the crisis by donating ad inventory and platform space to share news and health information with users.
The first live stream will be taking place from 8PM - 11PM tonight (27/03) on Bigo Live (BIGO ID: Razer). Subsequent event dates will be announced soon.
