Lola Amour are playing their first-ever overseas gig this weekend.

The band will be performing in Singapore alongside the likes of Ruel, Fazerdaze, Forests, Subsonic Eye, and more. Bassist Raymond King mentions how they're looking forward to reuniting with Thai singer-songwriter, Phum Viphurit. "We’ve played with Phum and his band here in the Philippines! Great guys, talented too." Meanwhile, vocalist Pio Dumayas adds how he can't wait to see Singaporean alternative hip-hop rapper, BGourd.

What are your touring/ travelling essentials?

Just the bare minimum so I can still pack light and still have everything that I need - Angelo Mesina

The most important part of my tour kit is my cross-body bag. It has my charger, power bank, film cam, a ballpen, earphones, shades, and playing cards for when we have to stay put in the holding room. - Pio Dumayas

You've toured across the Philippines, and now you're finally heading out for your first overseas show. How are you preparing for your TRIFECTA Music Festival performance?

Raymond King: I’ve been having some technical issues with my bass for a while so I got a new bass and had it fixed up for the show! First international gig. Can’t be too sure! 

Pio Dumayas: Our tech team always sh*ts on me for having the worst gigging gear they’ve seen so I took the time to build a proper pedalboard from scratch. It took me 2 weeks to make it but I'm really happy with how it turned out. I am now pitching to sell pedalboards to the rest of my bandmates. Please help me convince them to buy from me. 

When I’m not working on Lola Amour, I’m a video producer for VICE Asia, whose office is actually in Singapore so I got in touch with all my friends from work and invited them to come watch me in my double life 

Have you been to Singapore before? What are you looking forward to the most in your SG trip?

Raymond King: I haven’t! But I heard the hawkers are tasty haha. I can’t wait to eat in all of them -Raymond King

Pio Dumayas: I’ve been to Singapore maybe 4-5 times in my life and I always love it there. I have family there that I don't get to see so I’m always excited to see them when I come visit. Shoutout to Tito Akib, Ninang Tricia, Nadia, and Balong!
