Despite only debuting last June, Phantom Siita have already made quite a splash in the J-pop scene. Produced by superstar songwriter Ado, the rookie idol group have - in less than a year - released a highly praised album called Girlhood Memories, headlined the Nippon Budokan, and embarked on their very first world tour.

As part of their maiden voyage around the globe called Moth to a flame, the “retro goth” girls made their way our neck of the woods on Tuesday, 21 January for their Singapore debut! MonaMiuRinkaHisui and Moka performed at the Esplanade's Singtel Waterfront Theatre to an absolutely raucous crowd that seemed intent on shrieking their devotion every chance they got.

The quintet showcased some pretty impressive chereography and physical stage presence as they launched into popular originals such as 'I Want to xxxx with You', 'Otomodachi' and 'Devlish Girl'. Each member from the group even took turns to perform solo - delivering stunning renditions of Hikaru Utada's 'One Last Kiss' and Kenshi Yonezu's famed Chainsaw Man OP 'KICK BACK', just to name a few.

Given how new Phantom Siita are, perhaps not every aspect of their performance was entirely polished, but the five-piece more than made up for their inexperience with earnest enthusiasm and energy. They held the audience in the palms of their hands right through a fantastic encore which included a delightful cover of Sailor Moon's iconic theme song 'Moonlight Densetsu', and climaxed with their hit single 'Zoku Zoku'.

Before the successful concert concluded, each member delivered heartfelt messages of gratitude and were visibly emotional (all five were teary-eyed) as they warmly bid farewell to their Singaporean faithful in Japanese and English.
