On 9 December, Twitter Philippines revealed the top hashtags, topics, artists, and emojis that defined 2021.

It's been a rollercoaster year, but we've all made it to (almost) the end 🎢

Making it to the list of the top hashtags are P-pop royalty SB19, Korean drama-thriller show Squid Game, the highly anticipated Toyko 2020 Olympics, the global #StopAsianHate movement, Filipino rom-com He's Into Her, role-playing game Genshin Impact,  and of course, NFTs. 

While some of the top talked-about people in the Philippines include He's Into Her stars Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilian, P-pop acts SB19 and BGYO, singer Darren Espanto, and actresses Maine Mendoza and Maymay Entrata.

On the K-pop side of things, Twitter Philippines have loved and talked non-stop BLACKPINK, BTS, ENHYPEN, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, Red Velvet, Stray Kids, EXO, THE BOYZ, and iKON. The top K-pop hashtags also include BLACKPINK, BTS, NCT 127, TREASURE, TWICE, and more.
