The gates to SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN are finally open.

On October 23, Monday (6PM KST), SEVENTEEN made a much-anticipated comeback with their 11th mini-album.

SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN features the festive and euphoric title track, ‘음악의 신 (God of Music),’ and its instrumental version, as well as ‘SOS,’ ‘Diamond Days,’ and ‘Headliner.’ The release also includes unit tracks, as usual: ‘Back 2 Back’ (Performance), ‘Monster’ (Hiphop), and ‘하품 (Yawn)’ (Vocal).

“‘Seventeenth Heaven’ is our version of the English phrase ‘Seventh Heaven,’ which describes a state of bliss,” explained Mingyu in an introduction video. “It's also the name of a festival where SEVENTEEN, CARAT, and TEAM SVT celebrate and revel in the results they've achieved together.”

Following their success with FML and its twin title tracks, ‘손우공 (Super)’ and ‘F*ck My Life,’ S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Wonwoo, Hoshi, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino have come up with a brass-spangled and soul-filled ode to music. “This is our happiness / Music is our breath / No danger here, keep taking it in,” they proclaim.

“If there is a god of music in the world, this is the message we give,” SEVENTEEN sings, with an invitation to “Gather one note after the other, dance and sing – it feels amazing.”

Across the fields of SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, a clear wordplay on the blissful “seventh heaven,” SEVENTEEN makes use of vibrant and colourful music festival imagery, as seen in the accompanying video for ‘God of Music.’

Said to be filmed in Budapest, Hungary, the video sees SEVENTEEN flooding the streets with joyful song and dance. They lead a parade across the Danube over the city’s famed Liberty Bridge, exclaiming “쿵 치 팍 치, 쿵 쿵 치 팍 치, 예 [Kung chi pak chi, kung, kung chi pak chi, yeah]” as fireworks light up the night sky.

The group’s mainstay songwriters Bumzu and their very own, the prolific Woozi, are credited across SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN. American music producer and DJ, Marshmello, has also participated in the opener ‘SOS.’ Other members, as usual, have also contributed to some of the lyrics: S.Coups, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon.

Prior to the mini-album’s release, performance team leader and resident songwriter Woozi said on Weverse Live, "I heard some were flustered upon hearing the song’s title. But trust me. We weren’t joking around when we made this album, so you can trust us.” (제목을 듣고 다들 당황해한다고.. 믿으십시오, 그냥.. 앨범을 장난으로 만드는 게 아니기 때문에, 믿으시면 돼요.) Everything had to go through careful and extensive deliberations before any of their music went out into the world, he explained in reassurance.

“I’d like to think that if you like SEVENTEEN, I daresay you’ll like it, too,” he added.

During their “FML era,” as their fans called CARATs would say, the ‘Super’ act racked up over 6.2 million copies in sales 2 months after release, becoming the best selling Korean album of all time. Poised to continue their streak, SEVENTEEN have already surpassed their own records, with SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN garnering over 5.2 million pre-orders, according to their agency PLEDIS Entertainment.

SEVENTEEN is also scheduled to continue their FOLLOW Tour late this year, and is expected to bring their new SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN songs to Japan, Thailand, the Philippines and Macao.
