Snow Man's Ren Meguro is all set for his first starring role in a serial drama.

Fresh off his co-starring role in My Happy Marriage, the award-winning singer-actor has been cast in Trillion Game. A TBS drama based on the popular manga of the same name by Riichiro Inagaki (Dr Stone and Eyeshield 21) and illustrated by Ryoichi Ikegami (Crying Freeman and The Spider-Man manga), the show will revolve around the story of Haru (played by Ren Meguro) and Gaku (played by M!LK's Hayato Sano).

Meguro shares his excitement at his upcoming role and says: "I was so happy when I first got the offer for this role. I've read the original manga and the story is really interesting! I'm nervous of course since the character of Haru is pretty different from me, but I'm always up for anew challenge and look forward to entering his world. What kind of dynamic Haru and his partner Gaku will have, and of course the road they take in their quest for a trillion dollars, I hope fans of Snow Man and the manga will look forward to in equal measure, and I hope it might at some point get released overseas as well!"

Trillion Game is scheduled to air on TBS every Friday, 10 PM JST this July.
