After more than a decade, SOS are finally dropping the studio version of fan-favorite track 'Amore'. This is the Manila-based alternative band’s first release since 2023’s 'Please Lang'.
Written and performed during the early years of their career, the song has not been officially released as a single despite its cult-like status among fans. The band cited mixed feelings about the track over the years, particularly from vocalist and primary songwriter, Roberto Seña.
However, the introduction of new band member Ram Alonzo in 2023 brought a fresh perspective on reviving the beloved track. "With Ram and One Click Straight’s Tim Marquez as co-producer, we decided to give it another shot... There was new energy, and after working on it, we knew it was time to put it out,” they shared.

On the decision to breathe new life into an old favorite, SOS reflected on how it grew not just with them but also alongside their listeners, even after they stopped performing it. “We wrote it raw and full of youthful energy at the time,” they said. “Our listeners at the time really enjoyed it. To this day, people are still familiar with it because they watched old performance videos of it on YouTube. Writing it a bit differently this time, it feels more alive to us now.”
For the studio version, Seña made a few updates to the song’s lyrics, making it personal and relatable to him today, capturing how his feelings have evolved since the original writing. Despite the uncertainty about the song's appeal, SOS acknowledges its deep connection with fans.
On why they think the song has endured and endeared itself to listeners, they said, “We have no idea. But at the end of the day, it’s here now, and we hope the wait was worth it.”
'Amore' will also be part of the band’s upcoming album titled It Was A Moment which is set for release in the first quarter of 2025. “The first challenge was figuring out how to fit it in,” they shared. “It’s a balance between keeping that raw, lively spirit and adding some of the new influences we’ve since embraced. That’s where Tim came in—he glued all our ideas together."
As for the rest of the album, fans can expect an eclectic mix of sounds that reflects each band member’s individual influences. “We don’t box ourselves into what people expect us to sound like,” they shared. “The album is done—we just need to plate it. We promised it would be out this year, but schedule conflicts slowed us down. We’re happy with how different it sounds, the way it shines when you hear it as a whole.”
