SOS are back with new music.

Today (11 August), the Filipino indie pop band returned with their new single 'Roses'. Incorporating 80s-inspired synths and guitar work, the optimistic single comes as a product of SOS' new approach to their creative process since starting their new era as a band.

“‘Roses’ is a little more intimate than most of our songs. It has a feeling of lushness that I always aim for when producing songs lately. It’s rare that we write a love song that is free from the angst and jadedness that I think we have become known for," explains vocalist Roberto Seña.

'Roses' comes as their first release with new member Ram Alonzo on the keys. Having been a session player for SOS since the beginning, Ram joining the band just "felt right", he shared.

The single, alongside last year's 'Seryoso', comes as part of SOS' upcoming EP, It Was A Moment which talks about the feeling and anxieties of growing up. The five-track EP serves as a transitional record for the band as they move away from sonic constraints and explore new musical directions.

“There’s so much more depth to how we sound live that I think has been missing all these years. We’re not boxed into categories anymore, we’re taking the good things we’ve learned from our listeners and fans and building off of that and hopefully ‘Roses’ and the rest or our upcoming releases will be able to stand alone," says bassist Anjo Silvoza.

It Was A Moment is slated for release on 29 September via CARELESS Music.
