AXEAN Festival 2023 is coming.
In an announcmeent made today (1 August), the Southeast Asian music showcase festival, formely known as ASEAN Music Showcase Festival, unveiled their 2023 edition, which also introduces a new name for the annual event: AXEAN Festival. The change comes as a way to further amplify their mission to spotlight Asian music across borders and languages.
"After 3 successful editions, we want to make a statement of our commitment to elevate Southeast Asian music onto the world stage by renaming our event 'AXEAN Festival', with an 'X' symbolising our core values of collaboration and crossing borders, whether physical, lingual or cultural, while also inviting artists and fans from all corners of the world to celebrate and share their music with us," says festival co-founder Piyapong ‘Py’ Muenprasertdee.
The festival will be happening on 28 to 29 October at Singapore's Goodman Arts Centre.

AXEAN Festival will see headlining performances from Singapore's Shye, Indonesia's Reality Club, the Philippines' The Itchyworms and Oh! Flamingo, and Thailand's KIKI. Also performing are the likes of ena mori, Jean Seizure, TANAYU, Alisson Shore, ABANGSAPAU, obese.dogma777, iNCH, H 3 F, and more.

Passes to the festival are free, but attendees may also offer donations, ranging between SGD 35 and SGD 210, via Peatix.
In the past, the festival has seen performances from the likes of SOS, Young Cocoa, Pamungkas, VannDa, Sophia Khao, and more.
