The acclaimed musical version of Middle-earth is coming to Singapore!

The Lord Of The Rings – A Musical Tale, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved high fantasy epic, will make its Asian premiere in Singapore in August 2025 with a limited-season run at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands.

Told from the perspective of the Hobbits, the musical features original music by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman, Finnish folk band Varttina, and Tony Award-winner Christopher Nightingale.

The musical is coming off highly praised seasons at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and Civic Theatre Auckland. It will soon tour Australia in January 2025.

With its dynamic score and a powerful story of courage and adventure, this production will resonate deeply with audiences across the region, leaving a lasting impression on lifelong fans and newcomers alike," said Chantal Prudhomme, CEO of co-organisers Base Entertainment Asia.

Prices have yet to be revealed, but tickets for the show will go on general sale on 10 January via Marina Bay Sands ticketing, SISTIC and Klook. There will be three rounds of pre-sales. Klook World members pre-sale starts at 10AM on 6 January 2025 with 20% discount. From 7-31 January 2025, DBS and POSB cardholders will also enjoy a 20% discount. From 8-31 January 2025, waitlist subscribers will get 15% off their tickets.
