Many will be familiar with Jermaine Choa Peck - aka Jerms - as a percussionist and vocalist in beloved indie band The Ransom Collective. She's also been heavily involved in the world of theater with productions like Dekada ‘70 and has appeared in various films and commercials. She recently made her directorial debut with the experimental short film Ocean’s Reverie, a meditation on the beauty and healing power of the ocean.
Now the multifaceted Filipino artist is ready to unveil a new chapter in her journey by releasing her debut solo single, 'Alay sa Gabay'.
The song came about when she was living and working on a farm in Zambales, alongside her close-knit “coven community” of friends (and her beloved dog, Roti). While working on the Tribes and Treks reforestation project, the passionate environmental advocate was inspired by shared experiences of resilience, healing, and connection with the land. Thus, the song is an offering to the guides—ancestors, Mother Earth, and kindred spirits—who provide comfort and strength through life's challenges.

'Alay sa Gabay' is a song about surrendering to the unknown, trusting the journey, and holding on to hope in dark times. It is a tribute to the community that has been by her side and a personal milestone as Jerms steps forward as a solo artist. This release is the first of a three-part series leading up to her debut EP, produced by Kashira.
