The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards just announced this year’s nominees, with Pharrell Williams, Nine Inch Nail's Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Sheila E, Ingrid Michaelson, RZA, and more as contenders for the music categories. 

This year welcomes a new wave of first-time nominated musicians, including Labrinth and Isabella Summers of Florence and The Machine, who are nominated for their work on HBO series Euphoria and Hulu film Little Fires Everywhere, respectively. This year also saw the most diverse crop of music nominees, with a quarter being people of colour.
