Universal Music Greater China appoints Gary Chan as Managing Director of Universal Music Hong Kong

Gary Chan is now the Managing Director of Universal Music Hong Kong

Announced by Universal Music Greater China (UMGC) on 15 November, Chan is also appointed as the Senior Vice President of UMGC who will be based in Hong Kong and reporting directly to Timothy Xu, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Greater China. 

“I'm deeply honored to be entrusted with this role. Hong Kong, with its rich cultural tapestry and innovative spirit, remains a creative hub in the entertainment industry. At Universal Music, I anticipate an exciting journey ahead. Together, we will harness our creative strengths to venture into new areas and develop innovative strategies, ensuring our position as leaders in the ever-changing music world,” Chan shared in a press release.

Chan’s impressive career in the entertainment industry within Greater China and beyond kickstarted in 1988. From distributing TVB dramas to overseas markets in the early days of his journey, Chan has climbed his way to success given his extensive roles as Executive Director at Media Asia Group, and Managing Director at Warner Music Hong Kong and EMI Music Hong Kong.
