"Goodbye... for now."

On 29 December (Friday), Filipino metalcore act Valley of Chrome took to social media to announce the indefinite hiatus of co-founder and vocalist of 23 years, Rogel Africa. Africa will be leaving the Philippines and migrating to the U.S. "to start a new life."

Africa will be playing his last show with Valley of Chrome at the DC x Slayer Collection launch at Balcony Music House in Makati City on 13 January 2024 (Saturday).

Valley of Chrome formed in the year 2000. They released their debut offering Beyond Definition in 2001 and have since released five full-length albums, including Victorious and Confront Thy Curse. They were the first all-Filipino band to perform at the Wacken Open Air in Germany in 2019.

Read the band's statement below.

Goodbye... For Now.

Here's to let everyone know that our Frontman and Co-Founder Rogel Africa will be leaving the Philippines to start a new life in the United States.

Our show on the 13th at Balcony Music House for the DC X Slayer Collection will be our LAST show... for now.

It can be your last chance to have the "Victorious" vinyl record signed as Eikon Records will bring remaining copies.

We along with Numinous Philippines see Rogel's move as a window for more shows and opportunities outside the country. We will still be writing material for the band with Rogel in a remote set up. Of course, we will still update you from time to time.

Valley Of Chrome will always be a force bigger than its individual members. It's the music, the songs and the group's legacy that will stand the test of time.
To 23 years and more... Goodbyes are just temporary.
