Netflix's much-hyped new anime, SAKAMOTO DAYS, is based on the hit manga written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. It tells the story of the ultimate assassin, Taro Sakamoto, who is feared by villains and admired by other hired guns. However when he meets a convenience store clerk named Aoi, it was love at first sight, prompting him to retire.
He soon starts a family, raises a daughter and opens a mom-and-pop store in a quiet town - completely transforming his appearance in the process! To ensure a peaceful life, the legendary ex-hitman takes on a relentless stream of assassins in this action-packed story that blends the ordinary and the extraordinary.
The exciting series also comes with dynamic opening and ending themes by Japanese acts Vaundy and Conton Candy respectively.

Speaking about the OP, Vaundy shares, "When I wrote 'RUN SAKAMOTO RUN', I aimed to convey the inspirational protagonist Sakamoto’s overwhelming, unmatched strength. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to record the song in London, which gave it a unique sound, making it a piece I can truly say I gave my all to. I hope the song "runs: together with the manga, anime, and all of you guys!"
Regarding the ED, Conton Candy said, "We are thrilled to announce that our song 'FUTSUU' has been chosen as the ending theme for the TV anime SAKAMOTO DAYS! This marks our very first anime tie-in, and we couldn’t be more honoured. When we first received the offer, we were overjoyed and a bit surprised, but those feelings quickly turned into determination."
"With that excitement in our hearts, we poured everything into creating this song. You might be wondering, “A title called ‘FUTSUU’?” Well, the lyrics reflect Aoi’s feelings toward Sakamoto. They’re filled with warm and heartfelt words, so we hope you’ll take a moment to listen closely and feel the emotions in the song. Watch SAKAMOTO DAYS as much as you can, listen to 'FUTSUU' over and over, and let’s create an amazing anime experience together!"
