VK Blanka's recently completed Latin American tour was a rousing success!

The acclaimed Japanese singer-songwriter begun his travels in Brazil where performed at Anime Friends Sao Paulo 2024, the largest anime convention in South America. VK Blanka had the honour of headlining on the main stage on 20 July, performing 11 songs, including 'Black Catcher' from the global hit TV anime series Black Clover, for a crowd of over 10,000 people.

Stops in Chile and Mexico followed, which were welcomed by passionate fans who had long waited to catch the J-pop sensation live. VK Blanka even specially prepared a new setlist tailored to overseas audiences.

For his final show in Mexico, VK Blanka’s call of “Vamos!” got the audience fired up as he took the stage with 'Soten No Vampire'. The audience called out “VK” as the song ended, and continued cheering loudly as he launched into 'Shekebon!' His energetic stage performance continued unabated with the 3rd song, 'Black Rover', which was greeted with excited shouts as the intro played.

Next up, 'Never Run', which was released this year in May, was performed for the first time at an overseas concert, sparking loud sing-alongs and a fevered pitch of enthusiasm. These reactions were a reminder that VK’s entire discography, not only his anime theme songs, have won over audiences around the world.

Smartphone screens simultaneously illuminated to accompany 'Heal Me', enhancing the sense of unity in the venue. Renditions of 'Lucky Ending' from the anime Fruits Basket, and 'WALK', from the animated movie Flavors of Youth continued to mesmerise the crowd.

After thanking the audience for coming and promising to return, VK moved on to the final segment. The cool grooves of 'Snake' had the crowd dancing, while 'Ca Va?' and 'Black Catcher' brought the venue’s voltage to the next level. For the encore, he performed 'Stray Cat' and 'Black Catcher' for a 2nd time (as requested by the audience). Despite the Japanese lyrics, the audience’s thunderous chorus proved that VK's music transcends language barriers and borders.

VK Blanka's new album Knightclub is set for release on 4 September, while the single 'Yomigaeri (with Noriyuki Makihara & Ayaka)' is set to drop on 26 August. Stream here.
