The music community is coming together for one of their own.

In a Facebook post yesterday (18/01), Chito Miranda shared the ongoing struggles his Parokya Ni Edgar bandmate, Gab Chee Kee, is going through. 

Chito revealed that Gab was diagnosed with lymphoma last year, and has been undergoing chemotherapy over the past few months. While the guitarist has still been performing with the band, Gab was advised by his doctors to rest and prioritise his recovery. 

Due to complications, Gab is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and battling pneumonia. Chito also shared that Gab has been intubated for over a week now. With the rising cost of bills for his treatment, his family and closest friends convinced Gab to let the public know of his situation and ask for assistance. 

Fans and friends can send their donations via Gab's bank and Gcash accounts, as well as through Chito's Paypal account.

GIGS

Chito also revealed that the music community will be coming together to put on a series of fundraising shows, starting on 10 February, with Gloc 9, Flow G, and Shanti Dope hosting a GIG FOR A CAUSE at the newly opened 12 Monkeys at Estancia Mall in Pasig. PHP 1,000 gets you in at the door.

While the lineup and gig schedule has not been officially released, the Parokya Ni Edgar vocalist extended his thanks to their musician friends like Ebe Dancel, Gloc9. Shanti Dope, Flow G, Gracenote, December Avenue, POT, Moonstar88, and Moira Dela Torre.

He ended his post with "Walang iwanan sa Parokya band... sa Parokya Ni Edgar," a reference to the band's 2013 hit single, 'The Yes Yes Show'.

MERCH

The band has also teamed up with Linya-Linya for a limited edition shirt. Walang Iwanan shirt is available for PHP 799 here. Proceeds will go to Gab's hospital and medical expenses.
