On Thursday (19/03), Mandopop veteran Wang Leehom revealed in a video on Chinese microblogging website Weibo that he has been self-quarantining for two months after coming down with a fever following his concerts in Wuhan last December.
According to Chinese press, the singer had been in Wuhan for two shows on 29 and 30 December, and had made contact with many friends backstage. On 10 January, he caught a 39-degree fever, right before his Kunming show the next day, which he pushed through despite his condition. Wang expressed that there was no extensive news coverage of the coronavirus outbreak then, but he wonders now if he may have contracted the virus after all.
Although his fever was gradually subsiding, he headed back to Taipei after his concert as a precaution and has been self-quarantining ever since. In his video, Wang updates his fans, and sends encouragement to everyone under stay-home notice.
"We must be doing the same routine right now: staying at home, reading more books, watching more movies, spending time with family, exercising, playing piano or listening to music (...) When this pandemic is over, let's start afresh," he says. "I really want to see everyone again, but at such a time, I can only communicate with all of you through this video."

He uploaded the same video to Instagram, writing: "Keep washing those hands, and we will “hand in hand” get through these tough times." He also took the chance to wish some of his fan clubs happy birthday, thanking them for their "love and always believing in [him]".
