Singer-songwriter Jean Tan has been steadily cutting her teeth in the Singapore scene for a few years now, and she's certainly been getting plenty of notice for her stellar folk releases.
And judging from her recent showcases at Riverside Flow, Singapore Night Festival 2016, SEA Games 2015 (for which she also penned an original song entitled 'Colours') - Jean definitely seems to be coming into her own as a performer as well.
All that momentum is promising to coalesce when she finally drops her latest EP later this year. But before then, the burgeoning talent has also released a fresh single entitled 'Crowns', signaling her new direction and newfound sonic maturity.
A little bit KT Tunstall and a little bit Beth Orton - Jean's wonderful new release combines elements of electronica alongside her emotive jazzy folk-pop stylings.

'Crowns' also comes along with an autumnal music video about letting go off the burdens that hold you down. You can watch the Samuel Ruby-directed video, starring Kristina Pakhomova and Roshan Gidwan, below.
