Nathan Hartono, singer-songwriter and artful stalker, shied away from Singapore live stages for a chance on Sing! China (a rebranded version of The Voice Of China), the current reality competition format that has successfully overtaken the Idol franchise worldwide (but honestly, they aren't that much different, are they?).

The 25-year-old, performing a beloved hit by Taiwanese singer William Wei, won the hearts of the celebrity judges effortlessly as one after another opted to turn their chair around, including Asian megastar Jay Chou.

Hartono eventually chose him as his mentor, and now we imagine there'll be even more Singaporeans tuned into the variety show.
