Weezer will no longer be performing in Manila.

The band was slated to headline the inaugural edition of PLUS63 Festival Manila this October, which has been postponed indefinitely. In a post, Weezer wrote: "Manila, we’re so sorry PLUS63 Festival was cancelled. We tried our best to find a place to do a headline show for you, but unfortunately, it didn’t end up working out."

The 'Buddy Holly' act also surprised fans with vocalist River Cuomo's take on the Aegis hit, 'Halik'. Originally released in 1995, the song is a staple in karaoke sessions and jeepney rides, and is the band's most-streamed song on Spotify with over 13 million plays.

"We were so excited to play this cover for you," the band added.

Filipino fans expressed their disappointment at not being able to see Weezer, and shared their reactions on the surprising cover.

Fans who wish to refund their PLUS63 Festival Manila tickets can do so at the point of purchase. Purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled edition happening "in the near future".

Weezer will also be performing in Singapore on 11 October 2023.
