Weverse has issued an apology to users following a notification error concerning BLACKPINK

Leading up to their 5th anniversary, the K-pop group joined the fan community platform yesterday (02/08) as part of their grand 4+1 PROJECT. In the span of an hour, BLACKPINK had garnered over 500,000 followers, all of which subscribe to their content and receive notifications on the group's updates.

However, due to a technical error, users who did not follow BLACKPINK were also being notified of the group's posts. The incident led many users to share their confusion and annoyance online, some even going as far as sharing undue hatred towards the 'How You Like That' act.

Since then, Weverse has issued an apology regarding the error citing a temporary system failure that has since been resolved. Users will now only receive notifications and updates from acts they follow.

"Weverse immediately took on the task of correcting the system right after the error occurred, and the notifications system is back to normal now. We promise that we continuously correct the technical glitches and internally monitor the system," shared the HYBE-powered platform in an official statement.
