Netflix says 'Squid Game' is their "biggest ever series at launch"

If you haven't heard of Squid Game yet, where have you been?

The Korean drama-thriller premiered last September and since its release has become Netflix's biggest show, according to the streaming platform itself. In a statement on 13 October, Netflix shared that Squid Game has "become [their] biggest ever series at launch (and the first to surpass 100M when it premiered)".

The show reportedly reached 111 million global accounts in just 17 days and broke over 100 million views in its 28 days on the platform.

Since its premiere, Squid Game has become the most viewed title in every country where Netflix features a top 10 list, totalling 94 countries. It has even become the most viewed title in the US for over 21 days, setting a new record for a non-English title in the country.

The drama-thriller tells the story of 456 indebted players who were put into an extremely bloody competition of children's games for a chance to walk away with a glittering amount of money.
