The highly-anticipated annual music event is back for its fifth run this year. With over 7,000 artists that have entered the doors of the program since its inception, the highly sought-after event enables local and undiscovered musicians to share their original music with the world - providing them with a platform to be discovered on a national scale.  

After crowning winners 999999999 and Shahrae as dual winners last year, with Bad Dod taking the top spot in Singapore, Vans Musicians Wanted returns in 2020 to discover aspiring musicians.  

The introductory program is now open for submissions from 2 September to 30 September and artists of all genres and backgrounds are welcome to enter as long as contestants submit original music demos.

Unlike previous years, Vans Musicians Wanted has evolved into an absolute digital experience this time and the winner will be determined by a panel of esteemed judges.

Atlanta-based rapper, J.I.D and Chinese-born US-based artist, Bohan Phoenix, will join European based singer-songwriter Nilüfer Yanya, Grammy award-winning artist, Anderson .Paak and Vans Global Music Marketing Lead, Tierny Stout to form the panel of judges.  

Special guests J.I.D and Bohan Phoenix will join the panel of judges. 

After the judges decide on the shortlisted finalists, all five of them will get free one-year album distribution provided by Spinnup, playlisted on Vans Spotify and Apple Music, music added to the GoBig! Library, a Fender Player Series Guitar & accessory pack, a Fender regional rep assigned to each finalist, and Vans products.

On top of that, three talented artists will also be selected to perform at the virtual Vans Musicians Wanted concert scheduled in December. 

Whoever emerges victorious as the grand prize winner will be rewarded with:

• Opportunity to share the stage with Anderson .Paak as the opening act in 2021,
• customised Fender Gear,
• Spotify and Apple Music playlisting, 
• music video produced by Universal Music Group,
• one year of free and unlimited global music distribution from Spinnup (APAC exclusive),
