Weezer's Rivers Cuomo has put his own spin on a Singaporean favourite.
On Tuesday (10 October), the American singer-songwriter took to social media to share a cover of 'Home', which was originally used as the theme song of Singapore's 1998 National Day Parade (NDP).
Written by Dick Lee and recorded by vocalist Kit Chan, the number about Singaporeans' connectedness to their home has become one of the most beloved NDP tunes and remains a staple of Singapore's celebrations of independence to this day.

The release of Cuomo's version of the song comes shortly before Weezer's concert in Lion City on 11 October. Set to take place at The Star Theatre, the show will be the GRAMMY-winning American rock outfit's only one in Asia for their ongoing world tour.
That awkward moment when your guitar 🎸 learns Tagalog before you do. Results kinda slap though. Laugh and jam to my version of 'Halik' 👉 https://t.co/3nQYAnyM4S #WeezerGoesBilingual

No stranger to giving beloved Asian tracks the Cuomo treatment, the 53-year-old had previously delighted Filipino fans with a cover of Filipino rock band Aegis' Tagalog track 'Halik'. Prior to that, he treated Indonesian fans to a rendition of the late Chrisye's 'Anak Sekolah'.
